How did you become the country’s most powerful military leader?

Oliver Cromwell

“In truth I cannot take full credit for the New Model Army. I was an Officer in the Horse Calvary and true supporter of Parliament, but the Army was headed by Lord Fairfax.
As the momentum of the Civil War grew, former friends were levelled against one another. Lord Fairfax felt obliged to step aside.”

“The position was not a popular one and I found myself elevated to the post of Military leader of the Parliamentarian Forces because I possessed a previously unknown talent for warfare. My regiment “The Ironsides” were handpicked honest Godly men. Each was devoutly Christian, well protected with armour and well disciplined.”

“But over-all, it was God’s will..!”
