Oliver Cromwell – What was your proudest moment?

Oliver Cromwell

My proudest moments were many and varied.

The Battle of EdgeHill, the opening round of the Civil War was very successful for me and gave me leadership for the Battle of Marston Moor where I defeated Prince Rupert, Grandson of James I of England. I hasten to add that Rupert wasn’t killed, but it was a decisive blow to the Royalists.

Although with God’s help, my Military and Political achievements were great, I must confess a proudness in the birth of my children.

And although success itself brought many proud and sad moments, they pale in comparison to the sorrow of losing children at a young age.
